Principal’s Message

As Principal it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2024 - 2025 school year.

On behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to Public Service Community High School located in the Diego Rivera Learning Complex. We thank you for visiting our website, and we are glad to have a chance to tell you about our school. It is our goal to partner with parents to create a learning environment that is engaging, challenging, and supportive.

Our goal is to work alongside all stakeholders as we continue to work on achieving our District goals of 100% graduation rate, Proficiency for all, 100% attendance, Parent and community engagement, and school safety. We are excited to announce the opening of our new Parent Center, located in the library. Parents are encouraged to come and volunteer at the Parent Center. This will be year 2 of Parent Instructional Rounds. Parents will have the opportunity to visit classrooms and provide valuable feedback to our school on ways we can improve our instruction for all students.

Our teachers are highly qualified professionals that are committed to excellence in education. They collaborate on a daily basis in order to support our children to develop academically, socially, and emotionally so that our students can be successful in school and in life. Our goal at PSCS is to create proficient communicators, socially responsible citizens, critical thinkers, and strategic and skilled users of technology. These 21st Century skills will ensure that our students are prepared for the new demands in college and the work force. Our school has many partnerships, including a cadet academy being offered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a dental program being offered through UCLA, and USC School on Annenberg. It is our mission to help students prepare for work in the ever growing field of Public Service, and we will provide every opportunity to make sure that they receive the supports and opportunities to ensure their success.

At PSCS, we empower our parents and students by providing them access to Schoology, our online gradebook. We support our students academic growth through programs such as College Summit and AVID. We partner with LAEP to determine what resources within the community we can provide our parents with in order to support their needs. We work with CSUDH in order to continue our professional growth as educators and to build our capacity.

It is truly an honor to be the Principal of this wonderful school. We are a team of dedicated educators who work hard to provide every student the opportunity to learn and grow. I look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders in order to help our students graduate career and college ready.
